Build On The Rock

Why would a person spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to build a house only to have it fall down due to a poorly constructed foundation? I t doesn't make sense. It would be foolish. But this is exactly what people do when they go through life without listening to and doing what Jesus asks them to do.

In Matthew 16, Peter confesses that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus responds and states that upon this rock of truth I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

When we confess our great need of a Savior and repent of our sins and trust in Him, we lay the foundation to which the rest of our life is built upon.
Not having the proper foundation will result in ruin when we come to the end of our lives!

"Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it."
